Help

Place: Left‑click blank canvas. Use the shape controls.

Select: Left‑click a polygon. Shift/Ctrl/Cmd+Click toggles multi‑select. Drag on blank canvas to draw a selection box (marquee) — any shapes it touches are selected; hold Shift to add to the current selection. Ctrl/Cmd+A selects everything. Right‑click blank canvas to deselect.

Drag: Left‑drag a selected polygon (all selected move together).

Snapping: While dragging, shape edges automatically snap to nearby shapes for gap‑free tiling (vertices snap if no edge match is in range). Hold Alt while dragging to disable temporarily, or toggle "Snap to Shapes" in Settings.

Edit Vertices: Right‑click a shape and choose "Edit Vertices", or press V. Drag the dashed circle handles. Alt+Click a handle to remove; Shift+Click an edge to add a vertex.

Context menu: Right‑click on polygon for Delete, Rotate, Scale, Copy, Cut, Paste.

Zoom: Mouse wheel over canvas. Pan: Hold middle mouse (wheel) and drag.

Grid: Toggle above.

Undo/Redo: Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y or toolbar buttons.

Motifs: Select shapes (or a group) and use File → "Export Selection (Motif)" to save them as a reusable file. In any design, File → "Import Motif" merges it in at the centre of your view, keeping colours and grouping. A saved project file can also be imported as a motif.

Gradients: Choose Linear or Radial fill, then open Settings for gradient controls: angle/focus, start and end stop positions, and a swap‑colours button. Changes apply live to the selected shape(s).

Yarn palettes: Open the "Yarn" menu in the toolbar to pick colours from yarn ranges. Click a swatch to apply it; hover a swatch for the yarn name. In Linear/Radial mode, the start or end colour box is outlined in blue to show which one a swatch click will fill — click into the other colour or hex field to switch. When a shape's colour matches a palette entry the yarn name is shown in the panel. Hexes are screen approximations of physical yarn.

My Yarns: Open "Manage My Palettes…" (always visible at the bottom of the Yarn panel) and click "+ New" to create a custom palette by name. Switch the dropdown to that palette, then use "★ Save current colour" to add the active colour to it (you'll be asked for a colour name). All your custom palettes appear in the main palette dropdown above once they have colours. From the manager you can also rename or delete a palette, rename/delete individual colours, and export/import a palette as a file. Everything is stored in this browser.

Shortcuts: Del/Backspace delete, Ctrl+C/X/V copy/cut/paste, Ctrl+A select all, V vertex mode, Escape deselect.
